Governor Ortom who was addressing a Breakout Session for northern states at the ongoing National Economic Summit in Abuja, said ranches remained the only reliable way out of the current security challenge posed by clashes between herdsmen and farmers as well as cattle rustling.

He said Benue was giving priority to the growth of small and medium scale enterprises with particular interest in the training and empowerment of youths to acquire entrepreneurial skills and own their businesses.

In separate speeches during the breakout session, the Governors of Kaduna, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, that of Kogi, Captain Idris Wada who spoke on other sub-themes, called for focus on education and peer review among states in northern Nigeria.
