ORTOM SOLICITS INVESTMENT IN EDUCATION
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, today enjoined well to do indigenes to sustain contributions to the development of education in the state.
He made the call at St. Francis Primary School, Otukpo, while inaugurating a three classroom block built and donated to the school by the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Center, Dr. Paul Enenche.
Governor Ortom stated that the challenges in the education sector were so enormous that government alone could not surmount them adding that the input of individuals and organizations were required.
He commended Dr. Enenche for his contribution and urged other well to do indigenes to emulate him.
Inaugurating an ultra-modern chapel at the Wesley High School which Dr. Enenche also built and donated to his alma mater earlier, Governor Ortom expressed happiness with the unity among Christian denominations and pledged that his administration would partner with the church to accelerate development in the state.
In his sermon, Prelate of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Uche, commended the Benue State Government for returning schools in the state to proprietors while paying staff of such schools and assured that the Methodist Church would continue to give quality education in its schools.
He said the church had produced prominent leaders in various fields of human endeavor across the world pointing out that the inculcation of Christian values was responsible for the feat.
In his comments Dr. Enenche said he was giving back to his school and the society what he had received stressing that the essence of life was dedication to the creator and contribution to one’s generation
