Lawyers are Liars!

Most people say lawyers have no place in heaven. But I have a different view about lawyers. Lawyers are liars. yes, the best lawyer is the most cunning; one that knows how to twist the law in his client's favour- hence, tell lies.

People, it may interest you to know that ST Hon. SAN (PDP lawyer in Rivers State and APC lawyer in Benue State) has argued and won these cases against APC in Rivers State Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja: Dr Dawari George and Mr Lucky Odili of Asari-Toru/ Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency and the Ogba/Egbema Ndoni Federal Constituency respectively, had filed petitions challenging the victory of Hon. Boma Goodhead of Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency and Prince Nnam Obi of Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Federal Constituency.

ST Hon SAN and co were able to convinced the court that the APC had
no candidates for the Asari-Toru/Akuku-
Toru Federal Constituency and the Ogba/
Egbema/Ndoni Federal Constituency for
breaching some procedural obligations as prescribed in the Electoral Act.
According to the Act, 21 days mandatory
notice must be given to the Independent
Electoral Commission before the conduct of primaries – a provision the APC flagrantly disobeyed. On that premise, the Tribunal ruled that since the 21 days mandatory notice was not given, the APC did not field candidates in the two constituencies and accordingly dismissed the petitions for lack of locus.

Ironically, the same SAN will be in makurdi to argue (lie) that no one has the right to approach the tribunal on any pre-election matter. And that primary election is a sole duty of a political party (anyhow it is done) and not even INEC has a role! We wait to hear as ST Hon SAN will tell (lies to) the tribunal sitting in Makurdi that such rights exist but only for Rivers Sate. Isn't this really exotic?

My intentness however, is on the 'how'; the acute and crafty manner, and not on the parties involved. I hail all lawyers, wanted to be one after all.
