The Benue State chamber for commerce, industry, Mines and Agriculture (BECCIMA) the umbrella body of the organised private sector in the state in conjunction with the Benue State Government is organising the 8th Benue National Trade Fair. The trade fair is slated for 8th - 18th April, 2016. The Theme of the Trade Fair is "AGRICULTURAL TRANSFORMATION : PANACEA FOR SUSTAINABLE NATIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT" Addressing members of the press, the Benue State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Tersoo Kpelai stated that Nigeria is at a point of diversifying the economy. He opined that Agribusiness is the lowest hanging apple and the quickest win for the regeneration of the nations Economy. In his view, Benue State is at the front burner advantage, being one of the leading agricultural states in the country. Dr Kpelai, informed member of the press that his ministry has gone into Alliance with the Bureau Of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to me sure all local governments Areas showcase her heritage and products for the world to see. Dr Paul Ubwa, the 1st Deputy President of BECCIMA, appreciated the government, describing the 8th Benue Trade fair as ground breaking. He stated further that BECCIMA has been completely repositioned to provide leadership for the organised private sector in Benue to drive business in the state. He announced the donation of a Permanent Trade Fair ground by the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom. According to Dr Ubwa, the chamber has initiated several programmes which help in building and supporting small businesses in the state.

The trade fair will feature the Miss Benue Trade Fair Beauty Pageant.
