ALL LEGITIMATE STAFF TO GET BAILOUT – ORTOM

By Tahav Agerzua

Governor, Samuel, Ortom, today assured all workers in the state that none of them legitimately employed would be omitted from the ongoing bailout payment.

But he urged that the handling of the exercise be stepped up to ensure that those entitled get their money as soon as possible.

The Governor who drove straight from Abuja to the ICT Center at the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs met with the bailout committee under the chairmanship of his Deputy, Engr. Benson Abounu.

After receiving briefings and inspecting progress made, he came out and addressed local government staff who had complaints and were being attended to at the Center.

While assuring that no one will be victimized, he however said those who did not sow should not expect to reap.

According to him, the State Government is seeking to know where various sums of money that came into the state including those from excess crude oil, sale of State Government equities in companies, SURE-P and ecological funds as well as the monies said to have been kept to pay striking primary school teachers had gone.

Earlier Engr. Abounu had informed the Governor that staff at the ICT Center had worked throughout the night and would continue to do so to ensure that all got their monies through the e-payment system.

But he assured those with genuine complaints that their problems would be sorted out.

Engr. Abounu also advised those making the payment to monitor receipts of the funds across the state to ensure that the target beneficiaries were getting alerts for the money being credited into their accounts.

It is the bailout for primary school teachers and other Local Government staff that was being handled at the ICT Center of the Bureau.
